Synopsis

In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, lands a prestigious job she is ill-equipped for, with tectonic consequences for her marriage and political future

The producers convinced the American and British governments to allow them to use real locations as filming locations for the series, including the still-new American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018.

The only location that was off-limits was Winfield House, the real residence of the American ambassador

The UK allowed filming at the Foreign Secretary’s office, a rare distinction for any film or screen production, especially an American one.

It was featured in the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024)

Although it is aptly described as occupying the largest residential plot (11 acres) in London outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes.

I would happily sit down and watch another 8 episodes

It was so good that I watched all 8 episodes and started screaming in frustration at the TV when the last one ended.

One of those rare gems where every character in a quality cast has a well-developed personality, where every plot twist, no matter how convoluted, is easy to follow

It’s original, clever, and really, really well done.~~~~ That’s all I want to say, but apparently I have to write 600 characters, which seems like a lot at this late hour of the night, especially after 8 hours of great TV when I really want to go and get some sleep.
