Synopsis

In The Day of the Jackal (1973), the Jackal also drives a white Alfa Romeo, albeit an earlier generation model. Eddie Redmayne stands out in The Day of the Jackal, bringing depth and intensity to his role, keeping the audience on the edge of his seat with every move.

However, Lashana Lynch seems a bit out of place in the role here

His performance elevates the story, adding layers of intrigue that make him a compelling lead. While talented, her performance doesn’t quite mesh with Redmayne’s nuances, at times disrupting the flow and immersion.

A stronger lead character could have elevated it

It makes you wonder about the casting choices — could a different combination have made this film an instant classic? A stronger balance between the leads could have brought the epic impact this story deserves.
