Synopsis

In Mumbai, nurse Prabha’s routine is disrupted when she receives an unexpected gift from her ex-husband

Her young roommate, Anu, tries in vain to find a place in the city to be intimate with her boyfriend.

A segment towards the end made more sense to me precisely because I knew the title in both languages

The movie Prabhayayi Ninachathellam, I thought it was poetic but a strange translation of the English title until I saw it now and learned the meaning of that title.

The juxtaposition comes across in a beautiful, soothing and authentic way

The desire to connect with other human beings, the city that is still bustling to the point that even after decades you can no longer call it home, and the quiet of the countryside.

And even though there is a lot of Hindi and Marathi in the film, the main language is Malayalam even in the credits

I was very surprised by the authenticity of the Malayalam dialogues, even better than some Malayalam films, given that Payal does not speak Malayalam.

Very happy to see almost 70% occupancy even on a Wednesday for this beautiful film

So, it is also a bit sad not to see Robin Joy’s name appearing as much anywhere when he is the co-writer of the dialogues who has written most of the Malayalam dialogues and also an associate in the film.
