Synopsis

It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a TV documentary journalist whose work has been based on revealing the transgressions of long-respected institutions. In several episodes, Jonathon uses the same lens throughout the series, a medium-length telephoto lens. Such a lens would be incapable of focusing on close subjects like selfies with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine.

Update after the finale: I dropped it from an 8 to a 7

In the end, it’s a fairly simple story that’s complicated only by narrative devices, which I guess is the point. Three words from Kate Blanchett and everything would have become immediately clear. The main problem is that people don’t behave or react like real human beings.

It’s hard to understand the bad reviews

A good example is coworkers who decide to instantly hate her based on ramblings about an old man. By the way, there’s no reason to hate her that much even in the book version. And in the end, the “men are bad, stupid or weak, women are good” part is really boring.

The cinematography is great, the actors excellent and the story gripping

People decide halfway through the story, when they don’t have all the pieces, that there are plot holes. Others think the seduction scene was ridiculous, obviously they’re not men, it was amazing and the actress who plays Kate Blanchett in the younger version is fantastic and so beautiful it hurts my eyes. I would rather wait until the end to give a rating and review, but the sheer stupidity of the negative reviews forced me to write something.

I don’t know how it will hold up, but for now, highly recommended
